The building is pretty old and dirty which would usually send me away but oh my goodness these are the best bagels in the country

I stopped by here on a whim and I'm just so happy that I did! The bagels were so fresh and amazing. I love everything bagels and the fact that they had them made with wheat bread was fantastic.such a great opportunity to keep it local. So glad I stopped by!

Three and a half stars, I'm rounding up to 4 because, shop local an' that. The bagels themselves are GREAT - fresh baked, crispy on the outside, lots of varieties, and unlike many bagel places they are not sold out or closed by 1 pm (in fact on a couple days they are even open through dinner hour). They also sell many varieties of flavored cream cheese in tubs and a reasonable selection of fresh pastries. So if you're looking to pick up a dozen bagels to go, a tub of gourmet spread and a few pastries for your breakfast table, then by all means hit them up. With respect to stuff prepared there, there are many breakfast options for bagels with eggs and meats, etc. You can also get bagels with butter, jelly, peanut butter, and cream cheese. However, when you order a plain old bagel with cream cheese and lox, don't expect a bagel with plain cream cheese and a piece of salmon sitting on top of that and maybe an option for an onion slice - instead you get one with lox-flavored cream cheese applied, said cream cheese containing a couple wee pieces of fish, Um, no. Also have to agree with the comments that the inside looks like a dingy urban deli (doesn't jive with luxury apartments, fancy hair salons and Restaurant Row all within a block or two) and the staff can be bumbling or less than thrilled to be there, based on who you get.

These are the BEST BAGELS. Very reasonably priced and so good~ made fresh every morning. The only reason I am giving this place four stars instead of five is the atmosphere~~ kindof dingy and unpleasant. However, if you're just swinging by to pick up a quick breakfast or lunch or stocking up on bagels~~ this is the place to go!

Service is slow and horrendous and agonizing,,, but the BAGELS ARE AMAZING! So awesome, worth the frustration and wait. Love the bagels- chewy, fresh, tasty, so good. Cream cheese is also great. Had a lot of varieties and breakfast sandwiches. Can't go wrong. Will update when I've tried lunch here. Only use cards over $5.

My steak, egg and cheese on a bagel completed my morning which is why I'm giving Country Bagel four stars. The food alone deserves four stars. Be prepared to take your breakfast to-go since the inside is exactly how the previous reviews described - very dingy and plain. Also the service was so so so bad. Me and a friend's order of two breakfast sandwiches needed to be repeated multiple times. It took me a minute to find my card in my purse and that was an issue even though we were the only people in line. The one guy was so unbelievably rude! Exact words of his in his sassy voice : "SPEAK UP PLEASE I CANT HEAR YOU". Didn't enjoy that rude sass before my caffeine...

I came here to pick up a mid-morning breakfast on a weekday, having been to another location in the past. The restaurant itself feels dingy and the two people working there, while not outright rude, seemed like they would much rather be someplace else. My bacon, egg and cheese croissant was, sadly, inedible. The (I'm assuming microwaved) egg was bland and not evenly distributed on the croissant (I'm talking a tiny bit on one half and a much larger chunk on the other), the cheese was barely melted, and the bacon... oh, sweet bacon... three strips folded together, microwaved into a hard clump and stuck on the sandwich. Country Bagel may be a fine place to help nurse a hangover, but those us us looking for a tasty start to the day are advised to take a pass on this one.

The best bagel shop in West Chester. The bagels are done right and are HUGE. Not too pale, not doughy...the baker really knows what he is doing here. The sandwiches are priced right and the service is quick. My favorite!

This is just for the Parkway Shopping Center Location Notwithstanding the below review, their muffins are still fantastic! This place used to be "the" breakfast place for me... There bagels were always fresh, the ingredients tasted great (they still microwaved their eggs and breakfast meats though), and the service was always friendly and first-rate. "Used to" is the operative phrase in that first sentence, though. Now? The bagels are fresh tasting about 75% of the time (they are usually doughy and when you ask for them to be toasted they come out just about the same way they went in), the ingredients are still roughly the same good quality (but seriously, enough with the microwaves - get a freakin stove top griddle already!); but, by and large, my biggest complaint is the service. I see the same guy in there every time I enter, and he doesn't say anything to you, just angrily takes your order, throws it together, then takes your money for it and generally just seems miserable the whole time. Years ago, this guy used to be incredibly friendly, great to talk to, always smiling, and I gave him a decent tip every time. I write this review not to discourage others from going or even to complain about the location. I write this review as a suggestion to return to the old ways! I want to continue to come here - it's right down the road from me and has the potential to be great again! But, I've what I've found myself doing over the past few years is going somewhere else (or just making my own when I have the time to). So, suggestions: 1.) Replace the bagel toaster with a better working one 2.) Purchase a griddle so that the eggs and breakfast meats can be properly cooked (we can microwave at home for less$) 3.) Please improve service
